Board of Directors
Susan Dunlap — has served as CEO since Aerulean’s inception in July 2004. She began working on the intellectual property now serving as the foundation for Aerulean in 2001. Ms. Dunlap currently serves as Treasurer of the California Botanical Society, and served as Treasurer of the San Francisco Succulent and Cactus Society from 2004 to 2007. Between 1982 and 2001 she pursued a career in fine art. She is a 2007 grant recipient from The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, an award presented to her based on the exceptional quality of her work and the extent of her artistic achievement. She has exhibited widely, including at the Anchorage and Riverside Museums, and the Allan Stone Gallery in New York, New York and has received numerous awards for her work. Between 1977 and 1982, she was senior partner at Dunlap Marconi Stockwell, a commercial interior design firm she formed. Ms. Dunlap received a B.F.A. from San Jose State University in 1970.

Dave Cockerill — joined the Board in July 2004 and has been developing software for Aerulean since 2005. Mr. Cockerill was an Art Director and Lead artist in the video and computer game industry for seventeen years before joining Aerulean. He had leading roles at TKO Software, Electronic Arts, 3DO, Accolade, and Pronto Games. His mastery of both 2D and 3D software tools have been a great asset as Aerulean develops its software products. He received an award from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts for exceptional achievement in 1987.

Dr. C.C. — joined the Board in July 2004. She has expertise in managing large projects and identifying and resolving communication issues. Since September 1999, Dr. C.C. has been a research linguist at a major research center, in Palo Alto, California. She has had numerous speaking engagements in the United States, Europe and Japan, and is widely published in her field. Previously, Dr. C.C. worked at Techknowledge Corporation, a leading technical training corporation. She received an MS from Yale University in 1988 and a Ph.D. in linguistics from Stanford University in 1994.

Dr. R. Paul Kiparsky — joined the board in July 2004. Dr. Kiparsky is the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Stanford University, where he has been a Professor of Linguistics since 1984. Dr. Kiparsky will help manage the translation issues Aerulean will encounter as it expands into worldwide markets. In addition to Dr. Kiparsky's technical and educational expertise, he contributes a strong commitment to the social value of Aerulean's products and a life-long personal interest in botany. Dr. Kiparsky received a Ph.D. in linguistics in 1965 from MIT, where he was a Professor of Linguistics between 1972 and 1984. He has received numerous honors and awards in his field, and has spoken and published worldwide.
